The Rogue One scene where Vader impales several Rebel soldiers with his lightsaber did more than enough to distance the villain from his heavily ridiculed “NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” moment in Revenge of the Sith and showed that the Dark Lord of the Sith can still be a terrifying presence on the screen so many years later. Gareth Edwards did a fantastic job of bringing the iconic villain back to the big screen and making him scary again.
